I installed a new clutch slave cylinder yesterday and found this to be a pretty easy job following instructions in the Mazda Workshop Manual. Including cleaning the clutch fluid reservoir and bleeding the system, the job took a little more than an hour. The clutch fluid in the reservoir was unbelievably dirty, but I understand this is common and typically not a cause for concern.

Anyway, here’s a picture of the new part installed:

Leaks from this part are quite common. If you have this issue, then it is an easy DIY project. Full instructions can be found on Miata.net.
